Have You Died Lately

Pastor Justin Wells

"The flesh will never volunteer to die."

"There is no resurrection without death."

Romans 12:1-2

Key Points:

  • Romans 8:13

  • 1 Corinthians 15:31

  • Death is one of the hardest things. It is something that's touched the most people, and each death leaves a different scar.

  • Have you died lately...Spiritually?

  • While we spend our lives trying to keep our bodies alive, Scripture tells us there is something that continually needs to die.

  • Every morning I wake up is another opportunity to place myself back on God's altar. Every night before I go to bed is another opportunity to place myself back on the altar.

  • When paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:31 "I die", He was saying that he makes the choice daily to put his flesh on the altar.

  • John 12:24

    • Something has to die before something greater can live.

    • The Spirit cannot fully reign where the flesh refuses to surrender.

  • Galatians 5:17

  • There are things that a dead man cannot do.

  • Everyday we should have a funeral where we die out to our flesh. A grave where we lay down everything that is not of God.

  • Matthew 16:24

    • Deny- disown or distain

Lay it all on the altar
