~ Thursday Thought~

"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Ephesians 2:10

There is something very sweet about the little names we reserve for the people we love most: honey, sweetheart, darling, sugar. Those names say, "You matter to me" or "I'm glad you're mine." Sometimes life leaves us wondering if anyone sees us or truly loves us. Loneliness, disappointment, or even heartbreak can whisper that we've been forgotten, but when you open the pages of Scripture, you are opening the greatest love letters ever written. They reveal a God whose heart is full of affection for you.

  1. He calls you beloved - Romans 1:7

  2. He says you are the apple of his eye - Zechariah 2:8

  3. You are his treasured possession - Deuteronomy 7:6

  4. He rejoices over you with singing - Zephaniah 3:17

  5. You are his masterpiece - Ephesians 2:10

Psalms 139 reminds us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made and that God's thoughts towards us are so many they cannot be counted. Imagine that the Creator of Heaven and Earth thinks of you continually. He keeps you on His mind, not with frustration or disappointment, but with faithful love. He knows every tear, hidden ache, and every silent prayer.

If your heart is weary, try to linger in his word by reading slowly and listening carefully. With every word spoken or read, try to hear the tenderness behind every promise. Let His voice become louder than the voices of loneliness and fear. You are not forgotten, nor overlooked. Today, let yourself rest in the joy of being loved by the One whose thoughts are continually upon you while you set your thoughts on him.

Isaiah 26:3 states,"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You."
